Here's my story.
"Bloom where you are planted."
This phrase has been my mantra for over the last ten years since my first ever supervisor shared this nugget of wisdom with me. A couple of months out of college, I got myself employed in one of the world's largest multinational companies. And, although I was receiving a decent amount of salary and the workplace culture that I was part of was amazing, I did not really find meaning in the work that I do and I felt that I was in a standstill. My supervisor shared that during her first few years in the company, she experienced almost the same feeling. That she just had to work because she had to pay the bills. She ended telling me, "And then I realized, I cannot do anything about the situation. But, I can do something about how I can play a part in it. I can choose to be the whiny employee or I can choose to be the productive one. So, I chose to bloom where I was planted".
Since then, I carried this phrase with me in whatever chapter I was in my life. I got married, relocated to a new place, had two children, was diagnosed with and recovered from Postpartum Depression and, now, slowly rebuilding my career as a Coach. The phrase helped me grow as a person and re-evaluate my perspectives in life.
One thing I learned in my journey of growth is that, it doesn't come without shedding out something. Growth comes with work and, yes, pain. Growth may mean letting go of past beliefs to welcome in new, more empowering ones. It may mean letting go of old habits to build new, healthy ones. It may also mean letting go of relationships which don't serve us anymore to usher in more intentional and fruitful connections. But, believe me, with the right tools and the right conversations, we can pull through and bloom just right were we are planted.
And this is the core of my coaching practice. Like the seed which might have fallen through the cracks, I intend to help my clients search for their light, navigate their growth, and own it so that they can freely become who they want to be, one bold step at a time.
I'll be with you in every step of your journey.
