In our most recent trip to the grocery, James and Kristoff were wandering around the meat and fish section while I went to get vegetables. As I was busy searching for some good potatoes, I hear a child’s cry from afar and recognized that it was Kristoff’s. Thinking that it was just one of those cries when he did not get what he wants, I just shrugged it off and continued on doing my vegetable shopping.
When they came to me, I saw Kristoff all in tears and he was saying something of what seams to me as gibberish at that moment. “What happened?” I asked James, expecting to hear same old reasons like “Gusto nya kumain ng chocolates eh” or “Gusto na nyang buksan yung biscuit”. But, to my surprise, it was because of something else.
James explained that when they passed by the Fish Section, Kristoff saw the fishmonger getting one whole big fish and immediately cut its head off. In shock (and, I also think, in horror), Kristoff shrieked and yelled “Wawa Fish! Wawa Fish!”. Slightly embarrassed, James whisked away the push cart where Kristoff was and began heading towards my direction.
After around five minutes of attempting to calm him down (he really can’t move on from what he saw), I remembered that they had an aquarium holding live catfishes by the Fish Section. So, I asked Kristoff if he wanted to go see the catfish instead. Off we went to look at the lively catfish and all ended well.
Oh, my poor, sweet, little boy. I’m sorry you had to go through that torture. Rest assured, that fish will go to fish heaven.
